Exchange Club Jacksonville (XCJ), a member organization of the National Exchange Club, has been serving the Jacksonville area for over 90 years. The Youth Awards fall under the Youth Programs of Service and recognize and reward qualified public, private, and charter high school students throughout Duval County

STUDENT OFTHE YEAR AWARD
Each year, the XCJ recognizes one female and one male Jacksonville Student of the Year (SOY). The overall objective is to identify and recognize students with remarkable careers. The SOY committee will interview up to 200 students at most of Duval County's public, private, and charter high schools nominated by the schools' Guidance Departments. Being nominated places students in the upper echelon of their high school peers and is an honor by itself.
Students selected as their high school's Female and Male Student of the Year will be invited to one of our meetings and presented with a plaque and will contend for the Overall Female and Male Student of the Year. The students selected as Overall Female Student of the Year and Male Student of the Year will each receive a scholarship of $2,000 and will qualify for the Florida District to compete for another $2,500.
The typical Student of the Year candidate exemplifies a well-rounded high school career; he or she not only excels academically but also exhibits Leadership and involvement in any number of Clubs, Athletics, or the Arts in school and a steward of his or her community while off campus. To qualify for the Student of the Year, a Graduating High School Student must be referred by his or her Guidance Counselor. All high school students in public, private, and charter schools are eligible.

A.C.E AWARD
The A.C.E. Award (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) is given to a student who has overcome great physical, emotional, or social obstacles and is now eligible for High School graduation. Past candidates have survived Cancer or Natural Disaster, have been homeless or had a disability, or endured physical and psychological abuse. Each of our candidates exhibit a Never Quit attitude and a resiliency to overcome all obstacles before them. Our selection receives a $500 scholarship and will qualify for the Florida District to compete for another $2,500.

AMERICANISM
SPEECH CONTEST
The Americanism Speech Contest is a signature event of the XCJ. It combines two of our Programs of Service, Americanism and Youth Programs. Our objective is to recognize a high school student who can deliver a positive message on the topic of Americanism. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship.
To qualify, a student must be a high school Sophomore or higher. The Speech Contest is typically held before the end of March or mid-April.
